Skydive 2010We would like to thank everyone who supported the 5th annual Cops United Free Falling Spectacular. Saturday and Sunday, July 17th and 18th, were by far the largest turnout we have enjoyed in our short history and were a complete success. In addition to the tandem and solo jumpers, there were hundreds of people who kept their feet on the ground, enjoying the free family activities. The lemonade stand, which was hosted by our young friends: Cole, Fiona, and Felicia, collected over $250.00 for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. Also, with the generosity of the spectators, the jumpers, and the staff of Freefall Adventures, we raised an additional $825.00 with our dunk tank, which was matched by the owner of Freefall Adventures, Mr. John Eddows. The weather was great on both days for the 400-plus tandem skydivers, many of whom were first time jumpers. We were surprised and flattered with a visit by the parents of Alex's founder, Liz and Jay Scott. Although we could not persuade the Scotts to join a few of their staff members on a tandem dive (click to watch a video of their jump), we were honored that they were able to fit us into their busy schedules and visit our event, a reminder to us all that no one is ever too busy to help a child. Thanks again to the local police, fire and EMS volunteers, to Freefall Adventures, and to you for working hard to make this another safe and successful fund raising event. See you next year! History
The Cops United Free Falling Spectacular was started in 2006 and is proudly organized by Police Officers from the Policemen’s Benevolent Association of Southern Camden County Local 362. The Policemen’s Benevolent Association is an organization the helps those that help others and has been a supporter of the Special Olympics for many years. C.U.F.F.S. Events wanted to expand the charities that we support, The Special Olympics is still and will always be a part of the PBA but with the addition of Alex’s Lemonade we have entered into a whole new venture. C.U.F.F.S. is an event for the entire family with plenty of activities for children and great food from the Dropzone Cafe. Make a tandem skydive for charity, challenge yourself, step out of your comfort zone and make a tandem skydive with a certified tandem instructor from 14,000 feet. This will be a very exciting and liberating day for you, your family and for Alex’s Lemonade Stand. There will be activities, refreshments, food and special visitors for the entire family. Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is committed to finding a cure for all childhood cancers. To date, Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation has funded over 100 research projects at nearly 50 institutions across the country! In addition to funding cutting-edge research into finding better treatments and ultimately cures, we also fund nursing grants to improve the quality of life and care of children with cancer.
Thank You for Your Support
